Chapter 19

Tamsin wanted to laugh at Robyn’s reaction. It was pure gold. A mixture of surprise, confusion and embarrassment, it affected her in the most delicious way because it made Robyn look even more beautiful.

What am I doing?

This still felt…weird. She and Kendra were history, sure, but recent history. She typically didn’t jump right into a new romance with another woman so quickly, but then again, no one like Robyn had ever breezed into Tremont before and set up house right next door.

Add to that the fact that Robyn…

Well, Robyn got to her, exciting her on a level that went beyond her looks—which were considerable.

“Let’s call this our second date,” Tamsin said.

She did laugh this time when Robyn breathed out a sigh of relief and then followed that up by downing the rest of the wine in her glass. She silently held out her glass for a refill, which Tamsin happily provided.

“Oh my days,” Robyn said, nodding her thanks when her glass was full again, “I thought I’d made a right arse of myself.”

“Sorry,” Tamsin said. “I probably should have led with that.”

“You think?” Robyn retorted. “So…I take it our lunch together the other day was our first?”

Tamsin nodded.

Why not?

Ever since Robyn arrived at her cottage this evening, she had been unable to focus on much else other than how…buzzy she’d been feeling. It was as if there was an invisible current flowing between them in both directions.

It was a little frightening if she was honest with herself. Something in her spirit was telling her that she liked Robyn significantly more than any of the women she had been involved with recently, including Kendra.

What is it about her?

The sassiness had something to do with it, she knew. And that snarky sense of humour was another thing which turned Tamsin on. Like, a lot.

Robyn was also very clearly driven, professionally, and Tamsin found that next-level-hot. For Robyn, her job wasn’t just a way to earn a paycheque. Being a gallerist helped define her because she had a passion for the world of art. Moreover, on that first night she was over here, the night of the cancelled exorcism, she had confessed to wanting to open her very own gallery one day.

So, she was a woman who, like herself, worked very hard at making sure she succeeded in her current situation, but who also had goals for bigger and better things—things she’d have to bust her arse to achieve.

Like me…

Her eyes widened.

Good lord, I want to date myself.

“Tamsin…is something wrong?” she heard Robyn asked. “Your eyes just did this thing…like you’d seen a ghost.”

Tamsin blinked and then gave her guest a reassuring smile.

“No, nothing,” she hurriedly said. “Everything is fine. I was just thinking…We’re very much alike, and maybe that’s why I want to get to know you better. You know, despite the fact that you park delivery trucks wherever the hell you’d like and potentially ruin other peoples’ businesses.”

Robyn rolled her eyes.

“Okay, first of all, I did not park the truck, those blokes did.
